OUr Youth is Thriving

Our youth program is full of energy! Right now, around 50 kids aged 5 to 18 are members of TV Geinburgia. Many of them also play football or other sports, so most participate in tennis recreationally.

Because the kids often know each other from school or the village, it’s easy for them to meet up and play together on the courts. We also see many parents making use of our family membership option so they can enjoy a match together with their child.

The Youth Committee is led by Aida and Nanja, both of whom have children who play tennis at TV Geinburgia. They’re always happy to answer questions and organize fun activities for our younger members.

Activities

Since many of our young members also play football and/or hockey, we focus on organizing flexible, one-off activities rather than a full competition schedule. Each year, we host several fun events such as:

  • The Pepernoten Tournament
  • Parent-Child Tournament
  • Glow in the Dark Tennis
  • Short-format KNLTB competitions (lasting a day or a few weeks)

We actively encourage parents to play with their children, which is why we regularly organize parent-child tournaments. During our club championships, several doubles teams even featured a parent and child — and two father-son duos made it all the way to the final.

FAMIly Membership

Sharing the joy of tennis with your child is not only fun, but also a great way to stay active together. Learning young means tennis can become a lifelong sport — just like riding a bike. And the best part? Tennis pairs perfectly with other sports like football or hockey.

There’s nothing better than hitting the court with your child(ren). With our family membership, children up to 14 years old can join for free, as long as at least one parent becomes a senior member.

Got more than one child? Even better — if both parents join, you can register up to three children (14 and under) at no extra cost.

competition

We currently have one junior competition team (ages 13–17) playing in the yellow category and they’ve already won the championship two years in a row.

We’re eager to register more youth teams, as the competitive element really helps spark enthusiasm among kids. That’s why we also participate in shorter-format competitions in the red, orange, and green categories, such as summer tournaments.

Tennis Lessons

Learning to play tennis makes the game even more fun! Many of our young members train with Tennis School Inspire, our trusted partner offering high-quality coaching for all ages and skill levels — whether you're a beginner or an experienced player.

The trainers are energetic, passionate, and committed to helping kids grow on and off the court. Pedro, our lead coach, is supported by two junior players from the yellow competition team, and together they bring great enthusiasm to every session.

Lessons usually take place late afternoon on Mondays and/or Wednesdays. During the winter months, kids can continue training indoors.
